Excellent in man coverage. Has fluid hips and great change of direction skills which allow him to mirror receivers all over the field.
Aggressive – plays well in bump and run coverage. Gets a good jam on receivers and knows how to redirect them out of their routes. Breaks up a lot of passes. Has good ball skills and comes down with interceptions. Instinctive – good anticipation in zone coverage. Short memory – shakes off bad plays quickly. Primary liability is his lack of elite recovery speed and will struggle at times when in trail position. Average in run support. Has the toughness to stick his nose in there but sometimes takes too long to disengage from blocks. Provides extra value as a punt returner. This guy would fit perfectly into the Jets’ man cover scheme. Reminds me a lot of Antoine Winfield from the Vikings.
