Projection: 1st round
One of the things I like best about Thomas is that he improved every year at Georgia Tech and finished his junior year with a 25-yard average. He also has outstanding size, speed and athleticism.
Has great leaping ability and large catching radius. Very long arms. Gets to top speed in a hurry and eats up the corner’s cushion quickly. Gets in and out of cuts quickly. Needs to work on his route running but that is an issue with nearly every college receiver. Needs to work on getting off press coverage. Adjusts well to poorly thrown balls. Good job of shielding defender with his body. At his best catching ball over his shoulder and high pointing in jump ball situations. Works deep sideline routes well. Strong runner after the catch. Deceptive speed. Good vision in the open field. Fights for extra yardage. Great competitor. Hasn’t proven he has the toughness to run intermediate routes down the middle. Excellent blocker in the running game.
